Obituary for Johnnie Mae McConnell

Johnnie Mae McConnell was born on February 28th, 1930 to Eular Mae Johnson and John Henry Hill in Cheyenne, Oklahoma.

Johnnie attended school in Oklahoma City and soon after graduating high school. She moved to California, were she married the love of her life, Freddie McConnell in 1988.

Johnnie was employed by the city of Cerritos in Cerritos, California. She was a hard working, reliable individual, which soon lead to her position of supervisor and many other awards for her leadership roles. After her retirement in 1995, the McConnell’s moved to Bullhead City, Arizona. This was later followed by a move to Las Vegas, Nevada where they made a beautiful home. They attended the Potter House Christian Fellowship, until Johnnie became ill and was no longer able to travel.

On January 15th, 2018, Johnnie Mae McConnell transitioned from this life to be with the Lord.

Preceding her in death was her sister, Barbara Neal and her step-son, Antwan McConnell.

Johnnie had no children, but leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Freddie McConnell. Two sisters: Arneacy Barkum, Margie Brown; Goddaughter; Crystal Johnson: Five stepchildren: Teresa, Freddie Jr., Nicholas, Nicole; Two brother in laws: Leon (Sonja) and Terri (MM); One sister in law; Shelia and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Johnnie Mae McConnell , you will forever live in our hearts. You will be remembered for the love you had for your family.
