Obituary for Barrett Mitchell Woods

On September 17, 1953, Barrett Mitchell Woods was born to Genieve Z. Vaughm and Homer F. Woods in the town of Beaver County, Pennsylvania. Barrett was an only child. He accepted Chirst at a young age.

Barrett, most known to many as Barry, received his early education through the Main West High School. At the age of 17, Barry enrolled into the United States Marine Corps, during the Vietnam War. Her later received as associated Degree in Marketing from Harper College in Palatine,IL and a Bachelor of Arts Ministry from the Trinity Seminary College in Deerfiels IL. Growing up Barry worked several jobs as a Shipping Manager and a Warehouse Assistant.

On March 8, 1984, Barry relocated to Las Vegas, NV where he attended Le Cordon bleu Cullinary College. It was at Le Cordon Bleu where he met and later married the l;ove of his life Ms. Terry Orlowski.

In 2011, they attended Nellis Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Gregory Fields. Both Barry and his wife Terry worked as security for the church. In addition, Barry worked with the food ministry in feeding the homeless.

In 2018, Barry moved his membership to Spring Valley Bapist Church, under the the leadership of Pastor Steven Ball. There, Barry was active in severl church auxiliaries, including the men's Bible Study, Awana Childn's Ministry, Easter Program and Security.

Barry's outside activities included but were not limited to Promise Keepers, where he served as ambassador. One of Barry's favorite hobbies was building model cars and figurines. He also volunteered with the Red Cross at the Michael O'Callaghan Military Medical Center. He worked at Convoy of Hope, where he assisted in the distribution of food and clothing, also working with Catholic Charities Food Ministries. During his time at Le Cordon Bleu, Barry was awarded the
highest amount of volunteer hours of students in 2021. Batrry served his posts with the church and outside oorganizations with dilligence and with God as his guide.

Barry departedthis life on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Sunrise Hospital, Las Vegas, NV. Absent from the body and present with the Lord. He is preceded in life by his mother Genevieve Vaugh and his father Homer Woods.

Barrett Woods, leaves to mourn, his dedicated and loving wife Terry Orlowski-Woods of Las Vegas, NV, son Joseph Michael Woods of Klamath Falls, OR, daughter REbecca Grace Woods-Shoemaker (Michael), step-daughter Mary 2 Arrows of Oakland, CA, step-sons Juatin Tate of Austin, TX and Terrance Orlowski of Bartlett, IL and a host of relatives and friends.
