Obituary for Edward Lesueur Gerrard

Mr. Edward Leseuer Gerrard was born on February 6, 1944, to the union of Edward Gerrard Sr. and Vassa Mae Gerrard in Chicago, Illinois. He received his formal education from Hirsch High School in Chicago, Illinois. He went on to further his education at the University of Phoenix and University of Nevada Las Vegas receiving a Masters Degree in Education and Business.

On April 15, 1972, Edward married Linda in Wareham, Massahusetts and to that union five children were born. Then in 1974, Edward became a member of the SGI USA Buddhist faith. Edward enlisted into the United States Air Force in July 1961. He served in New England, the West, and overseas in Okinawa for seven years, Vietnam for four and a half years, Korea for a year, and Philippines for two years. He served as a security policeman in the military for 10 years and 16 years in accounting and finance.

Edward’s special memories of proudly serving his country included guarding at different times, President Kennedy and his family, President Johnson, Bob Hope and his team of entertainers (Barbara McNair, Raquel Welch, Joey Heatherton, and Miss Thailand), Sammy Davis Jr. and his family. On May 1988, Edward was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force. After the Air Force, he was employed by the Clark County School District as a special education middle school teacher for fifteen years before he retired.

In his pastime, he enjoyed watching sports, playing Bingo, and spending time with his family, and his grand children.

Edward departed this life on December 6, 2021.

Edward Leseuer Gerrard leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Linda Marie Gerrard; five children: Edward Mendes Gerrard, Caesar Jerome Gerrard, Gina Marie Kerrigan, Lisa Marie Bass, and Curtis James Gerrard; his sister, Sharon Briggs; brother-in-law, Danny Briggs, their children: Jason and Michelle; 16 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
